8 for a Mate – Pen y Fan Challenge | May 1st 2026

Pen y Fan.South Wales’ highest point. The walk everyone talks about — and this time, actually does.

On May 1st, 2026, 8 for a Mate invites you to take on Pen y Fan in a way that really matters.

You can take part:

  • Individually

  • In teams of two

  • In teams of four

Whether you complete one lap or all eight, every climb is dedicated to a mate: someone you’ve lost, someone who’s struggling, or just to show the boys that you're there for them.

Across the day, the challenge culminates in eight up-and-downs of Pen y Fan — a powerful collective show of support to look after the boys. Individually You can do all 8 or just one lap, as a team of two, divide it into four laps each or a team of four doing two laps each. The opportunities are endless, but the mission stays the same.

The full challenge takes around 16 hours, but this isn’t about finishing first or proving anything. You don’t have to do it all.

👉 Just show up 👉 Take part 👉 Be part of something meaningful and fundraise to support Speakeasy Clubs' Mission of putting free mental health support in every community sports venue in the world.

This is about starting conversations, standing shoulder to shoulder, and reminding our mates — and ourselves — that we’re not on our own.

Join us. Take a step that matters. Be part of something bigger than the mountain.
